As of last Friday, China’s hexamine market remains in a tight supply-demand balance, with most producers still focused on fulfilling previously signed orders. Over the weekend, many manufacturers stopped accepting new orders, waiting for updated pricing signals from upstream methanol and liquid ammonia markets.

Based on current cost trends, hexamine prices are expected to increase by RMB 100–300/MT (USD 14–43/MT) in the coming week.

🔷 Price Trend Review (Jan – Mar 2026)

At the beginning of 2026, hexamine prices in China were around:
   •    RMB 4,250/MT (≈ USD 607/MT, Shandong delivered)

By late January to early February, prices rebounded slightly to:
   •    RMB 4,350/MT (≈ USD 621/MT)

Due to weak domestic demand and the Chinese New Year holiday, many downstream factories suspended operations. The recovery after the holiday was slow, with most plants only returning to full production levels by early March.

🔷 Impact of Rising Energy and Feedstock Costs

Following geopolitical tensions since February 28, global oil prices surged, driving up methanol futures sharply, which significantly increased production costs.

As a result, hexamine prices rose rapidly:
   •    RMB 4,600/MT (≈ USD 657/MT)
   •    RMB 5,100/MT (≈ USD 729/MT)
   •    RMB 5,600/MT (≈ USD 800/MT)
   •    RMB 5,800/MT (≈ USD 829/MT)
   •    RMB 6,100/MT (≈ USD 871/MT)
   •    RMB 6,300/MT (≈ USD 900/MT, current level)

At present, many manufacturers have closed their order books, temporarily suspending new sales.

Although domestic demand remains relatively weak, export demand continues to provide strong support, with stable international orders maintaining market momentum.
