Calcium Stearate – Product Overview
Calcium Stearate (Ca(C₁₇H₃₅COO)₂), also known as calcium octadecanoate, is a fine, white to off-white waxy powder that is insoluble in water but soluble in hot organic solvents. As a calcium salt of stearic acid, it serves as a multifunctional additive with excellent lubricating, stabilizing, anti-caking, and water-repellent properties.
Produced mainly in China through direct saponification of stearic acid with calcium hydroxide or oxide, it is a cost-effective, non-toxic material widely used in various industries for processing efficiency and product quality improvement.
